Cortland-Onondaga Regional Trash Partnership

April 28, 2015

Cortland-Onondaga Regional Trash Partnership

Cortland and Onondaga County assumed Co-Lead Agency status for the environmental review process (SEQR) for this project.

The co-lead agencies and OCRRA have considered the Draft and Final Environmental Impact Statements (DEIS and FEIS, respectively) for the proposed partnership and developed a statement of findings based on the contents of these documents.

This Findings Statement will be considered for adoption by each County Legislature. Adoption of the Findings Statement would serve as the last step in the formal environmental review process. View the Findings Statement here.

On May 6, the OCRRA Board voted on a potential contract between OCRRA and Cortland County that addresses specific terms of this project. In order for the project to move forward, the Findings Statement must be reviewed and accepted by both Legislatures and respective solid waste importation laws would need to be addressed.
