Property managers play an important role in saving the world a little each day! Large or small, all properties can recycle the same things.

Apartment recycling programs can be very successful when tenants are given the tools and education they need to properly separate materials. Better recycling habits will help make your property clean, green, compliant with regulations and appealing to potential tenants.

OCRRA can help! Have a question about how to manage recyclables at your property? Managers can give us a call at (315) 453-2866. A recycling specialist will provide free supplies and advice to create, improve or update your recycling program.

Recycling Facts

Recycling is required by Onondaga County’s Source Separation Law. To stay in compliance and reduce unwanted fines for sending contaminated material to the sorting facility, ensure your waste infrastructure is well-labeled and your tenants understand recycling rules, including what is recyclable outside of the recycling bin (electronics, film plastics, textiles, fluorescent lightbulbs and food waste).
