OCRRA is partnering with OCM BOCES to offer teacher training, on a new day – Dec. 8, 2026

Hoping to learn more about our classroom resources? Teachers can get professional development credit for attending a FREE one-day workshop at BOCES in North Syracuse. Join the OCRRA and OCM BOCES teams for an interactive session covering the role of Onondaga County’s waste system in climate change and sustainable resource use. Registration is required. Please note, this course is designed for teachers. A frontline account with BOCES is required for registration.

  • During the session we will discuss climate science and sustainability. There will be plenty of time to explore and get hands-on support using OCRRA’s new resources for classrooms.
  • The workshop will offer frameworks, such as ecological overshoot, to make it easier to wrap our heads around climate change.
  • We’ll work through foundational skills that build from grade to grade, giving students the background they need to understand sustainability issues.
