#1 - Recycle

Cooking oil should never go down the drain. If you have used fats, oil or grease (FOG) leftover from cooking or deep frying you can recycle it for FREE at either of these places:

Businesses looking to dispose of FOG: please search the internet or phone book for a list of “Rendering Companies.”

It is a good idea to amass larger quantities of cooking oil before drop off. If you have very small amounts of cooking oil (less than a quart) you can cool it, seal it in a jar with a screw top lid and place it in your trash.
