No asbestos-containing material of any kind can be brought to an OCRRA Facility. OCRRA cautions homeowners against personally performing asbestos removal due to potentially adverse health impacts.
For a list of local asbestos removal service providers, please search the internet or phone book for “Asbestos Abatement & Removal Services.” Or, check the New York State Department of Labor database of licensed asbestos abatement contractors that can classify, handle and dispose of asbestos materials.
Miller Environmental Group has a branch in Syracuse which accepts friable asbestos (asbestos that can be made airborne) and non-friable (asbestos that is in solid particle form / not airborne) that is double-bagged. Call (315) 451-6666 for more information and fees.
