Don’t toss your perfectly carved creation into the trash. Reduce waste by composting pumpkins instead. Food and other organic waste never belongs in recycling bins, but can be reused to create nutrient-rich compost that gives your garden a boost in the spring.
- OCRRA will accept pumpkins at our Amboy and Jamesville Compost Sites, November 1-23.
- Remove embellishments, including stickers, candles and battery-operated lights. No painted pumpkins please.
- This opportunity is FREE for Onondaga County residents only.* A compost site pass is not required to drop off pumpkins by November 23.
*This event is not for commercial or municipal operations.
