What to do:
Prior to storage or drop-off, sandwich these batteries between two pieces of clear packing tape, with each one separated so the terminals do not come into contact with other batteries or metal. Then, drop them off at one of OCRRA’s battery recycling drop-off locations throughout Onondaga County, as shown below.
–OR-
If clear packing tape is not available, you can place a single coin or button battery in a small sealed sandwich or snack bag.
When you arrive at an OCRRA battery drop-off location, look for the opening labeled for button and coin batteries.
TIP: Do not store batteries for more than six months. Shorter storage times may be recommended by some manufacturers.
