Scammers are getting savvy. They can create emails, web pages and other messages that seem real at first glance. Protect yourself. Never respond to a suspicious email. It isn’t worth the risk.
Always take steps to verify information, but never call the number provided in an email. It may not be real. Instead, call the agencies you need to reach directly.
OCRRA will NEVER ask customers to change payment accounts via email. If you’ve recently received an email from “Rusty” with an attachment, do NOT open the attachment. When in doubt, check it out by calling us directly at 315-453-2866.
If you believe you’ve been scammed or if you’ve opened a fradulent attachment, immediately changed your password and contact your financial institutions if you believe your personal data is compromised.
