Capture the spirit of Earth Day every month! DeTrash Syracuse is a social group that builds community by picking up litter and beautifying local spaces.
The group’s next free event will be held on Saturday, July 12, at 2pm. Supplies (trash bags, gloves, and litter pickers) will be provided. Volunteers will meet on the corner of Washington and Walnut in Syracuse, right by Harvey’s Garden.
The 1-mile route will target a skate park, dog park, basketball court, and a few storefronts. After picking up litter, participants have the option to socialize at Harvey’s Garden, a brewery serving both food and drink. Street parking is typically readily available. To sign-up, visit www.bit.ly/detrash2 .
OCRRA is not hosting this event, so we unable to answer questions related to it. For questions, please contact the organizer at [email protected] or check out the DeTrash Syracuse Facebook page. Volunteers are hoping to schedule future events on the second Saturday of each month. However, OCRRA will be unable to note changes to the schedule. Please always check directly with the the organizer to confirm cleanup days, times and locations.
