Christmas Tree Recycling

Don’t know what to do with your Christmas tree after the holidays? You can recycle it!

Most communities, including the City of Syracuse, provide a curb-side pick up for trees. They simply ask that you put your tree – no plastic bags, lights, tinsel, stands, or ornaments – at your curb during the scheduled pick-up time. Contact your town or village for more info.

Onondaga County residents can also bring their Christmas trees (and leaves / brush) to either of the OCRRA compost sites between Jan. 2 – Jan. 16, 2010.
Click the links below for hours at each location.

There is no charge to deliver trees to either site. In the spring, the trees are ground into mulch that, in turn, can be used in gardens and landscaping.
